Batteries are fully charged upon collection. Range: min. 65 km. If you book the bikes for more than one day, you will receive chargers for your batteries. Instructions will be provided upon pick-up.

The E-Bike has 7 gears. The motor helps you reach speeds of up to 25.0 km/h. You can choose between 5 settings (OFF - ECO - TOUR - SPORT - TURBO).

How long can I rent an E-WHEEL for? One day rentals start at 08:00 and last until 22:00 the same day.

We offer e-bikes on both Samsø and Ærø. On Samsø, bikes are ready at Sælvig Harbour and Ballen Marina. You choose when to pick up and drop off within the rental period. Easy and convenient.

Electric is for everyone

Electric cycling has no age-limitation. The minimum height is 165cm to operate the pedals.

1. General

You and Ø-hjul are the only parties to this Agreement. You are the sole user of the Services and therefore solely responsible for complying with all terms and conditions described in this Agreement. You may not allow others to operate the e-bike. You declare and confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. You declare and confirm that you are physically fit and competent to operate the e-bike. You assume all responsibility and risks for injuries or health conditions when choosing to operate the e-bike. You are solely responsible for determining your general ability, health condition, weather conditions and other factors that may pose a risk when operating the e-bike. You acknowledge that you must carry out a basic safety check of the e-bike, including an inspection of the wheels, brakes, lights, frame, battery level and any visual damage, before setting off. Ø-hjul holds exclusive ownership of the Services, including the e-bike, the website and all associated intellectual property. You may not use Ø-hjul's property for commercial or other purposes without written consent. E-bikes can be rented for a full day (via the website) or on an hourly basis (via the app). For day rentals, you may collect from 08:00 and must return by 22:00 the same day.

1.6 The e-bike may only be operated on Samsø and Ærø

To use the Services, you agree to only operate and store the e-bike within the usage area of Samsø and Ærø. If an Ø-hjul e-bike is taken on the ferries and/or outside of Samsø and Ærø, Ø-hjul will consider the e-bike stolen and will charge a replacement fee of DKK 20,000.00.

1.7–1.9 Rules and restrictions

You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the operation of the e-bike in Denmark and on Samsø and Ærø. You are solely responsible for any violations. You may not operate the e-bike while carrying items that impair safe riding, or carry passengers, children or animals. You may not use mobile devices while riding or operate the e-bike under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication or other substances. You are responsible for storing the e-bike safely and locked when not in use. Ø-hjul recommends wearing a CE-approved helmet. The e-bike may not be used for competitions, stunt or trick riding, off-road riding, in mountainous terrain, or in places where it is prohibited or a nuisance to third parties. You may not tamper with, attempt to gain unauthorised access to, modify or hack Ø-hjul's physical or digital property.

1.10–1.13 Incidents, theft, damage and battery

You must immediately report any incident, accident, damage, theft or loss to Ø-hjul. If an accident involves third-party injuries or property damage, the local police must also be informed as soon as possible. In the event of loss of the bike without the accompanying keys, an excess of DKK 6,000.00 applies. If both the bike and keys are lost, the full replacement amount of DKK 20,000.00 applies, including any additional equipment. You agree to return the e-bike in the same condition as when collected. You are liable for damage beyond normal wear and tear. You acknowledge that the e-bike is an electric vehicle requiring careful and safe handling. Battery level decreases during use and it is your responsibility to ensure sufficient battery level before setting off. Ø-hjul does not guarantee any specific range or that the battery will not run out during the rental period.

2. Payment and rates

Your rental is calculated based on the selected rental period and the prices in the booking system on the website. A day rental covers up to 14 hours (08:00–22:00). Via the website you can book and pay for rentals covering multiple consecutive or separate periods. Flexible rentals of more than 1 hour are handled via the app. You agree to return the e-bike within the agreed rental period. Failure to return the bike on time will result in Ø-hjul treating the e-bike as stolen and charging a replacement fee of DKK 20,000.00. You warrant that you are authorised to use the payment details you provide. Ø-hjul is authorised to charge the provided card. You can pay by VISA or MasterCard via our payment provider (Quickpay).

3. Disclaimers, limitation of liability and assumption of risk

You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Services and operation of the e-bikes is entirely at your own risk. Ø-hjul provides the Services without any warranties. You acknowledge that Ø-hjul is not liable for any claims arising from your use of the Services, a breach of this Agreement, or any violation of law while using the Services. You accept that riding an e-bike involves many obvious and hidden risks that may result in personal injury, death or property damage, and that these risks are entirely your own responsibility. If your use causes harm to other persons or property, you may be held liable for all resulting damages. You agree to indemnify and hold Ø-hjul harmless from all losses, claims and proceedings arising from your use of the Services or any breach of this Agreement. Ø-hjul's e-bikes are covered by mandatory liability insurance pursuant to Section 105 of the Danish Road Traffic Act. Documentation can be found in our FAQ.

4. Privacy

By using the Services, you acknowledge and accept that Ø-hjul processes your personal data in accordance with Ø-hjul's Privacy Policy, available at the Ø-hjul website.

5. Term and cancellation

The Agreement takes effect from your first booking and remains in force for as long as you use the Services. The term ends 10 years after your last use of the Services. It is not possible to cancel a booking or obtain a refund. Ø-hjul may at any time unilaterally withdraw your right to use the Services without notice or reason.

6–8. Disputes, contact and governing law

Any disputes relating to this Agreement must be submitted in writing to: hello@oe-hjul.dk or via the messaging function at www.facebook.com/oe-hjul. Any dispute shall be governed by Danish law and settled exclusively by Danish courts.

9–10. Entire agreement and interpretation

This Agreement constitutes the complete and exclusive agreement between the parties. Ø-hjul may at any time unilaterally add, modify or change the Agreement without prior notice. By continuing to use the Services after any such changes, you agree to be bound by them. Pricing shown on Ø-hjul's website supersedes any pricing stated in this Agreement. You acknowledge that you have voluntarily read and understood this Agreement and are fully aware of its legal and binding significance.
